Smart Medical Technologies' Smartfuge System
is a hardware/software
dynamic that replaces the current paper-bound information gathering
methodology used by doctors and laboratories in the common procedures
of acquiring and processing test samples. Available in both portable
and office configurations, the Smartfuge System adds versatility and
practicality into a reliable framework that ensures efficient analysis
and patient safety.
Current lab procedures require a lab technician to complete a test
request form and generate a bar code sticker for both the test request
form and the test tube. The lab request form and the test tube must
stay together until the testing process is completed, and then the
form must be archived for auditing purposes.
The Smartfuge System allows a lab technician to quickly and easily
enter all pertinent patient information in a matter of minutes, and
the information is saved with the test tube itself. No paper trail is
required because the test tube can be read from, or written to, at any
time throughout the testing process.
