MEHDI HATAMIAN, PH.D.
Dr. Hatamian is Co-Founder of the company and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Hatamian is a recognized expert in high-speed VLSI signal processing, image processing and compression, full-custom and low power circuit and architecture design, adaptive filtering, Gigabit Ethernet transceiver design, high-density deep sub-micron CMOS design, high temperature superconductors, and biomedical electronics.
He has published nearly 50 papers in his areas of expertise and holds 27 patents with several patents pending. Dr. Hatamian is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) whose technical objectives center on advancing the theory and practice of electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, and computer science.
Election to the rank of Fellow is one of the IEEE's most prestigious honors. He received his Fellow award for his contribution to the design of high-performance digital signal processors. He has participated in numerous national and international conferences and other professional activities in his field as an organizer, session chair, panelist, invited lecturer, and moderator. From 1978 to 1982, Dr. Hatamian worked for NASA's Space Shuttle program, developing hardware and software designs to support in-flight biomedical experiments.
From 1982 to 1991, he was a member of the Visual Communications Research and the VLSI Systems Research departments of Bell Laboratories, where he was named Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff in 1988. From 1991 to 1996, he was Vice President of Technology at Silicon Design Experts, Inc., a company he co-founded. Since 1996, Dr. Hatamian has been with Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM) where he is currently the Vice President of Engineering for DSP Microelectronics. Broadcom Corporation is a provider of highly integrated silicon solutions that enable broadband digital transmission of voice, video, and data to and throughout the home and within the business enterprise.
Dr. Hatamian received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Arya-Mehr University of Technology in Tehran, Iran and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He serves on the board of directors of a number of companies in the technology and biotech sectors.
